George Washington Pancakes

These are actually griddle cakes, something I've been wanting to try to make for a long time. Also, on a side note, my buttermilk is finally gone!

Griddle Cakes
Adapted from this recipe
1 cup of flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1 tbsp of sugar
1/8 tsp of salt
1 egg
1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
1 cup of buttermilk
2 tbsp butter, melted
Butter to grease the frying pan
Chocolate chips (optional)
Orange slices (optional)
Whipped cream (optional)

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt. Set aside.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg and yogurt. Whisk in the buttermilk and butter.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Heat a frying pan and melt a tablespoon of butter. Pour 1/4 cup of  the batter onto the frying pan. Cook until each side is golden brown. Top each griddle cake with the optional toppings. I made George Washington.
