Coconut Cream Cupcakes

Charlie and I are snowed in. We've spent most of the day watching people try and make it up the hill next to our apartment in their cars, only to slide back down it. We've sprinkled in some movie watching. I decided that I was going to make some coconut cupcakes that don't have coconut flakes anywhere near them. This is my result.

Hamburger Buns

Sometimes I don't feel like leaving the apartment, so when I found out that we were out of hamburger buns, I decided to make my own.

George Washington Pancakes

These are actually griddle cakes, something I've been wanting to try to make for a long time. Also, on a side note, my buttermilk is finally gone!

Onion Rings

Onion rings are time consuming and messy, but always worth all of the trouble if you have the time. Because I'm on winter break, I now have the time.

Breakfast Burritos

I'm a big fan of using up whatever is in the fridge to make burritos. Burritos are delicious, specifically the breakfast kind.

Squash and Asparagus Sauté

I really, really, really love yellow squash and I had some asparagus lying around that needed to be used up. Sometimes I invent stuff; it's kind of neat.

Roasted Garlic and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes

Seriously, there was a lot of buttermilk. It's almost gone, thank goodness. I took Charlie to see The Nutcracker Ballet for her first time on Friday, and before that we went to Outback with some friends. Charlie got garlic  mashed potatoes with her meal and I was eager to make my own version.

Buttermilk Sweet Potato Rolls

In an effort to use up the buttermilk I bought for my buttermilk pie, I've been making everything with it. I saw these rolls while searching through my favorite cooking blogs around Thanksgiving, and just haven't had the time to make them. With finals coming to an end, I decided that with the time I should be spending studying, I'll make these time-consuming rolls, instead.

Buttermilk Pie with Blackberry Sauce

I saw this recipe on Joy the Baker awhile ago, and I was determined to make it. To me, it looked delicious. To Charlie and Bri, not so good. They gave me crap for a good few days about the "curdled pie." Apparently, to them, "it look[ed] lumpy." I made it anyways. I even made a special trip to the grocery store for buttermilk, because who the heck has buttermilk laying around? Not me.

Lemon Shrimp and Angel Hair

My roommate, Charlie, has only had shrimp once in her life. That was the fried kind, at a Thai restaurant. Anything tastes good fried. I was determined to have her try it again, mostly because I love shrimp.
